Farm expenditures on fertilizer are currently estimated by Statistics Canada employing the National Farm Survey and taxfiler data. Prior to the introduction of the National Farm Survey in 1983, the Agricultural Enumerative Survey and the Farm Enumerative Surveys were the chief sources of information. Before these surveys were introduced in the mid-1970s, consumption estimates were based on information from the Agricultural Census with appropriate adjustments for year-to-year variation in consumption. 1, record 1, English, - Agriculture%20Enumerative%20Survey

Avant l'Enquête, en 1983, l'Enquête descriptive sur l'agriculture et les enquêtes descriptives sur les fermes étaient les principales sources d'information.
